Here’s to good friends.

Whether it's LinkedIn, openBc, Ryze, MySpace, Friendster, Ecademy, Meetup or Facebook, networking online had helped many gain new business contacts and form new friendships. In their book The Virtual Handshake, David Teten/Scott Allen use the term social software to refer to these Web sites and define it as:

"[The] tools which help you to discover, extend, manage, enable communication, and/or leverage your social network."

Using social networking Websites to connect your audience makes sense because you can create a discussion around the one thing you care about - your brand.

In its simplest form, social networking Web sites allow people to network with one another based on a specific interest.
